Andy Allan sweeps the board.

 

The 2016 Cock O’ the Wyre trophy was won by Andy Allan who won all three races in the series. Six Lasers and  two GPs contested the trophy on a day of variable weather and mixed, sometimes fluky winds ( as ever ! )

Andy won the first race from Ian Davies by a minute, the second race by thirty six seconds and pulled well away from the fleet in the third race to win by over 7 minutes.

Ian finished in overall second place with Simon Yeomans in third.

The two GPs had an interesting tussle in the first race, won by Keith and Heather Budden  but , sadly, Jon Holland and Elaine Bethell were forced to retire in the second race due to a main sheet  breakage. It was good to see two lady crews on the water and Heather has promised to return when the weather warms up.
