Laser Open, 2018-Results

An excellent turnout of nineteen boats saw some close racing in the usual fickle Trimpley winds. It was good to see nine visitors join the Trimpley sailors and we trust they “enjoyed” their sailing in our little pond.

John Ling, from Bartley SC dominated the three races as usual, and comfortably won the Standard, Master and Overall titles. Simon Hardiman, also from Bartley SC, was second overall and Ellie Craig from Draycote SC came home in third place overall. Ellie also won the U21 series.

The top Trimpley sailor was Andy Allan in 4th place with Ian Davies in 7th position and Mike Dalziel in 10th. Congratulations to Charlotte Spokes for her determination in finishing her races in trying conditions.

Jamie Mason from Blithfield SC won the Laser Radial series with Trimpley SC’s own Phil Pimble in third place. The 4.7 series was won by Charlotte Rockett from Datchet SC.

Thanks to all the race crew led by Norman Quarry for their calm and confident control of the races and to Linda Harrold and her  crew for the usual excellent lunch.

Well done everyone for a lively and well contested afternoon’s sailing.
