Millennium Trophy 2019
A magnificent turnout of 18 boats ( 12 Lasers, 4 GPs and 2 Toppers ) on the water for the Millennium Trophy really livened up the event this year.
Good winds ( most of the time ) meant for some close and exciting sailing.
Norman and Hazel Quarry took the first two races for the GPs to win the trophy. Local knowledge certainly helps.
James Gammond and Leslie Freeman and the Griffins both sailed well. The series was tied with one race win each but the Griffin boat could not sail the third race and so James and crew took the Handicap Trophy.
In the Lasers Eddy Hillman was supreme although in the first race the following five boats came in within two minutes of each other.
Martin Landon raced very steadily to take the Handicap Trophy.
Matt Chadderton and Toby Gammond fought out another close series of races for the Toppers with the trophy going to Matt after a third race decider.
James Gammond won the Newcomer’s Trophy and Matt Chadderton took the Junior Trophy.
Well done to all racers – could do with 18 boats on the water every week !
