Phase 2 – LIMITED RETURN TO SAILING

Access to the clubhouse will be strictly limited to use of the toilets; and we must rely on you to clean touch points thoroughly when entering and using toilets. We will make sure wipes and disinfectant are provided. If these have been lost or used please inform the flag officer.

The critical core measures remain the same:

• Maintain strict Social Distancing.
• Maintain rigorous Hygiene Standards.
• Do not come to the Club if you have a new continuous cough, a high temperature, or loss of, or change in, your normal sense of taste or smell
• Do not come to the Club if you or anyone in your household or support bubble have a new continuous cough, a high temperature, or loss of, or change in, your normal sense of taste or smell. ​Follow the Governments advice with regards Test and Trace.
• Do not come to the club if you have been asked to isolate by NHS Test and Trace because you are a contact of a known COVID-19 case.
General:

Initially, sailing will take place on Sundays only starting at 12 and off the water at 3 with hourly breaks for safety.
All activity to be recreational; there will be no organised racing or social events
Sanitize hands when opening/closing the gate. (risk assessments states “leave gate open during race hours”)
• Leave enough space when parking to enable social distancing
• No Galley/kitchen facilities will be available
• No duties will be allocated. There will be a volunteer flag officer on site.
No changing facilities will be available. Arrive ready to sail or change discretely in car park. Use of the changing rooms is only permitted in the case an emergency during Phase 2.
• Clubhouse access is strictly for use of the toilets only. One person at a time, speak up when entering just in case someone is already in there,
• Do not move or breach barriers that have been placed in the clubhouse.
• If you access the Clubhouse when open, you must wipe down all surfaces and handles touched, with the sanitizing wipes provided. Doors to areas of the club house that can be accessed will be wedged open
• The toilets lights will be left on and only touched by the flag to minimise transfer.
• All necessary electrical power is ON.
• Do not touch other people’s boats or belongings
• Social distancing. Strictly minimum 2m apart at all times, including 2-man boats. Sailing should only be with people from the same household unit or those in your support bubble.
• No congregating inside/outside.
• Only 2 boats on the pontoon (1 per pontoon leg) you launch then replace your trailer in your boat space NOT by water to avoid other people needing to touch your equipment
• No crossing on the pontoon with people outside of your household or support bubble.
• Boats are to be launched and recovered single handed or with people from the same household unit or those in your support bubble. Face coverings to be worn in case emergency assistance is needed.
• Club boats can be used but only once per session to stop transfer of virus.

Use of garage to be minimised – members should bring all their own equipment if possible. – if garage is used, it is for a maximum of 1 person at a time in the garage area. Equipment taken from the garage should be used once per day

On Water safety Only Jaffa Safety Boat To Be Used

• Safety cover will be provided by volunteers. A new winch system has been put in place to make recovery a 1 person job, a training video is available, this will be released in the next couple of days. Face coverings should be worn when launching safety in case assistance is needed.
• There will be no safety boat duties allocated. If we are unable to obtain a volunteer, no sailing will be allowed. Confirmation of safety cover will be communicated via email and Trimpley WhatsApp group
• It is our intention to reduce the need for safety to recover sailors from the water during Phase 2 of the clubs reopening therefore you must be a competent sailor able to cope with prevailing conditions without any form of assistance. A mast head float must be used at all times to prevent a total Inversion and help safety. Sailing maybe stopped by the flag or safety if they deem it too dangerous for that day. There is no discussion; they have the final word!
• The safety boat will be single manned during Phase 2 of the club reopening. The Jaffa safety boat is to be used during Phase 2 with the boarding ladders.
These measures will be subject to continual review depending on your degree of co-operation and also any changes in Government guidance
